Advisory Committee on Packaging commitee member application

Following the appointment of a new Chair to the Advisory Committee on Packaging (ACP), Defra is recruiting new members to join the Committee.

The ACP is a Government expert committee that advises Ministers across the UK, bringing together the expertise and experience of individuals with a specific interest in packaging and packaging waste.

ACP members are drawn from the various parts of the packaging supply chain, including businesses which have legal obligations under the Packaging Waste Regulations as well as others who are involved in the management of packaging waste – local authorities, compliance schemes and waste management companies.

Defra are looking for candidates with expert knowledge of the packaging sector from the following sectors: manufacturing, retail, waste management, compliance schemes, material reprocessing and export (glass, aluminium, steel, paper and plastic) and local authorities (covering representation from Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland).

If you would like further information on the roles available and a copy of the application pack, please email Defra at packaging@defra.gov.uk. The deadline for submission of applications has been extended to Sunday 31st January.
