Consultation description

Proposals have been sought so that changes can be made to the existing regulations for the collection, treatment recovery, recycling and re-use of waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The proposed changes to the WEEE system are an important part of the strategy so a simplified means of compliance especially for small producers and greater flexibility that would allow local authorities, who play a vital part in the collection of unwanted items, to maximise the potential income from their WEEE collections.
