DAERA seeks views on the development of a new Northern Ireland Waste Management Strategy

Date published: 02 December 2022

Following the success of the last Waste Strategy Workshop held at CAFRE’s Greenmount Campus in September, DAERA is hosting a further workshop to help inform the development of a new Waste Management Strategy.

DARD News

How we reduce, recycle and otherwise deal with waste is such an important topic and it is therefore also important that the work we have underway on the content of a new waste management strategy is informed by as many different perspectives as possible.

In particular, officials are keen to explore with businesses, councils and anyone with an interest in waste management the actions we might collectively need to take to meet new recycling and landfill reduction targets, reduce litter and tackle plastic pollution.

The workshop will take place on 13th December 2022 at 9.30 am at CAFRE’s Greenmount Campus. If you would like to attend the event, please register your interest by sending an e-mail to: wslpr@daera-ni.gov.uk, with your name, your organisation and contact details.

Please note due to capacity constraints attendees are limited to 2 per organisation

A webcast providing feedback on the discussions from our previous Workshop in September is available on the DAERA Website.
