Technology projects
CAFRE demonstrates and assists adoption of cut flower and foliage species and their systems of production to interested farmers and growers.
Students attending Floristry courses at Greenmount Campus also have first hand exposure to the range of varieties for use in their floral arrangements.
Cut flower technology programmes focus on a number of areas including cool climate crops, season extension, pest & disease management and new varieties. A wide range of facilities at the Horticulture Development Centre, Greenmount Campus enable cut flower crops to be grown in glasshouses, poly tunnels or in the field.
