CAFRE’s success highlighted by National Apprenticeship Week

Date published: 05 February 2020

This year’s National Apprenticeship Week (February 3-7) has proven to be a great opportunity for businesses to realise the benefits that apprenticeships can bring to them.

Stacey Hall and Sigita Vitkute, from Linden Foods Dungannon, celebrate Apprenticeship success with CAFRE staff and Industry Representatives.

At the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Loughry Campus in Cookstown, the Level 2 Food and Drink Apprenticeships are proving extremely popular with students. And, the agri-food business sector is reaping the rewards by employing those taking the course.

Two students at CAFRE, Stacey Hall and Sigita Vitkute benefitted from the ‘earn as you learn’ apprenticeship scheme. Both young women are currently employed at Linden Foods in Dungannon. Having completed the Level 2 Food and Drink Apprenticeship, both have recognised the value of completing the qualification. After choosing to begin careers in the meat and poultry industry they are now directly using the knowledge and skills learned at the Co Tyrone based college. Driven by their motivation and commitment to completing a qualification whilst working, Stacey and Sigita are on their way to furthering their careers.

If you are an Agri-Food Employer, and would like to find out more about the Level 2 and Level 3 Food and Drink Apprenticeships offered at CAFRE, visit the CAFRE website: www.cafre.ac.uk to find out more.
