DAERA’s Inland Fisheries and Marine Conservation teams partnered up to exhibit at the Ireland on the Water Expo at the Eikon Centre, Lisburn on the 4th & 5th March.
This event celebrated everything that is great about the marine leisure industry from angling to sailing, kayaking to diving, while also giving visitors the opportunity to chat to DAERA staff on a one-to-one basis about marine wildlife and habitat disturbance.
The Inland Fisheries angling simulator was in high demand and proved to be immensely popular as staff encouraged younger attendees to get involved in fishing, while beautiful drone footage of the Public Angling Estate played on large screens.
Overall, the Ireland on the Water Expo was a fantastic opportunity to offer the public insight into what Inland Fisheries and Marine Conservation teams contribute to our shared waters.
