Have you ever thought about furthering your education, changing careers, or feel that you need to build your confidence to be ready to grasp those opportunities that come your way? If so, why not consider enrolling in a postgraduate course at CAFRE.

Tara Grimes (Donaghmore Co Tyrone) owner Tara Grimes Fitness. Tara is a graduate from the MSc programme at CAFRE’s Loughry Campus, Cookstown.

Tara Grimes is a former student who is enjoying continued success as a self employed businesswoman since completing her postgraduate Masters at Loughry Campus, CAFRE. Commenting on the programme, Tara explains how the course has helped develop her skills.

“Deciding to enrol in the Masters programme at CAFRE was without a doubt one of the best decisions I have ever made.  I wasn't too sure of what career route I was going to take when starting out but that became clear after graduation when I had the confidence to follow my passion and start my own business in health and nutrition.

"The course in Loughry was fantastic and very applicable to my business.  The course content undoubtedly developed my skills in the use of communications from verbal and written to the use of digital multimedia promotions which is all essential within my business.  I now use this experience to write blogs for many national publications and for food businesses such as Spar NI whom I also represent as a health and fitness ambassador.  I have been nominated for awards for my use of digital communications on social media platforms, a skill which I also acquired due to my time spent at Loughry Campus.  The use of creative multimedia communications strategies is essential to the marketing of any business, not just mine.

"I have made many friends for life, all from different business backgrounds and with whom I still keep in touch with and who have certainly enriched my life and career. The supportive course tutors teach with knowledge and experience as most have had a career in the business world. This makes it very relatable to the ‘real world’. I am proud to say that in less than 3 years I have taken my business from a small rural business in County Tyrone and scaled it to an online business that employs a team of people that now helps 1000’s of women all over the world.  This never would have happened had I not acquired the knowledge and skill set that I did during my year doing my MSc at Loughry Campus, Cookstown”.

The postgraduate programmes are specifically designed to enhance career prospects by developing your knowledge and competences across a wide range of work situations.  This ultimately will improve work performance and enable you to achieve positive change and development within an agri-food or rural business. The Postgraduate programmes are taught at CAFRE in conjunction with Queens University, Belfast and are offered on either a full or part-time basis.

If you would like to discover how you could enhance your career through a qualification from QUB at CAFRE come along to the Postgraduate Course Information Evening, at Loughry Campus, on Tuesday 27 June from 5-9pm and look into how full-time or part-time study could benefit you.
