Project Description: DfC are the navigation authority for the 4.8km stretch of the River Lagan between Stranmillis Weir and the Harbour Commissioners limit on the downstream side of the Lagan Weir, and are responsible for the operation of the Lagan Weir.
A land crane will install a 600mm diameter pile at the location shown on the sketch. The pile will be approximately 20m long with a welded joint and will be driven to an approximate depth of 11m using a vibrating piling hammer. The 23m of pontoon craned into the water and bolted to the existing units and attached to the pile using a pile guide by boat
operatives.
