  • Nominate someone for a Queen's Honour

    Do you know someone who deserves recognition? Someone who has made a difference? Someone who has dedicated time to charity work? Helped their community?

    Then nominate them for a Queen’s Honour!

    Honours are given to people from all walks of life and all sections of society. People get honours for achievements like:

    • making a difference to their community or field of work
    • enhancing Britain’s reputation
    • long-term voluntary service
    • innovation and entrepreneurship
    • changing things, with an emphasis on achievement
    • improving life for people less able to help themselves
    • displaying moral courage

    Honours are given to people involved in fields including:

    • community, voluntary and local services
    • arts and media
    • health
    • sport
    • education
    • science and technology
    • business and the economy

    Some of the awards available are:-

    Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE)

    National level, or a leading role at regional level. Also for a distinguished, innovative contribution to any area.

    Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)

    Major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen area.

    Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE)

    Significant achievement or outstanding service to the community.

    British Empire Medal (BEM)

    Sustained, local contribution or innovative, high-impact work of a relatively short duration (eg 3 to 4 years).

    Queens Award for Enterprise Promotion

    And outstanding role in promoting enterprise skills and attitudes. These activities could be at national, regional or local level eg amongst young people or those in disadvantaged communities or in under-represented groups.
