Robotic Automation Conference at CAFRE – Loughry Campus

Brian Cooney, KUKA, stated that: “Robotics have been widely deployed in the food sector for some time now, but predominantly in what is known as the 3P’s, picking, packing and palletising. However more recently, robots are being used  extensively in meat processing, dairy and mainstream agriculture in areas such as slaughterhouses, milking parlours and in the field (sowing, harvesting and fertilising) using both traditional robots but also specifically developed autonomous mobile robotics and drone technology.”

In order to explore the opportunities available to food processing companies, CAFRE has partnered with the Northern Ireland Technology Centre (Queens University Belfast), Northern Regional College, and Connected to deliver a Robotic Automation in Food Processing event. The event is free and will be held at CAFRE – Loughry Campus, Cookstown on Wednesday 25 October 2017. In addition to hearing examples of successful implementation, there will be opportunities to see demonstration equipment and discuss potential opportunities for automation within your business.
