DAERA Minister Michelle McIlveen has launched a consultation on a draft Knowledge Framework.
It sets out the rationale for the Department’s involvement in education, training and technology exchange provision; what the Department seeks to achieve and the nature of its interventions.
Miss McIlveen said: “The future success of the Northern Ireland agri-food industry, like any other industry, will be determined largely by the ability of its people to acquire, assimilate and deploy knowledge that equips them to prosper in changing markets and trading conditions.
“This Framework sets out how my Department’s education, training and technology exchange provision should be deployed to support and maximise the success of this vital industry.
“I encourage all those with an interest in this important area to provide their views to us before Monday 27 February 2017.”
The consultation documents are on the DAERA website.
