    • Project Description: TI LirIC Limited (the Applicant), a wholly owned subsidiary in the Transmission Investment Group, is developing a 700 megawatt (MW) High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) electricity interconnector project to connect the Irish Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM) to the Great Britain (GB) wholesale electricity market through a link between Northern Ireland (NI) and Scotland (the LirIC Project, herein referred to as the Development), which is scheduled to be fully operational around the end of this decade.

      This application is for the ground survey phase of the project, consisting of including cable routing, land requirements, regulatory licencing, voluntary environmental impact assessment (EIA), and planning consent work. As part of this, marine technical surveys are necessary to characterise the Offshore Cable Corridor to allow final routing to be confirmed.

      This Variation of ML2024009 is to extend the licence expiry date to enable ground Geotechnical survey activities to be completed with no change to any exisiting paramiters in original licence.
