Greenmount Campus Student Formal 2026

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Greenmount Campus Students’ Union hosted its annual Student Formal on 5 May 2026, bringing together students, staff, and invited guests for an evening of celebration at the Tullyglass House Hotel in Ballymena.
The event welcomed students from across Greenmount Campus’ wide range of programmes, including Agriculture, Floristry, Horticulture and Land-based Engineering. It marked an opportunity for students to come together and celebrate their achievements following a busy academic year.
The function room was filled with students dressed to impress, enjoying a night of dining, music, and entertainment. The Students’ Union was also delighted to welcome a table of staff and members of campus management, whose attendance highlighted their ongoing support for student life and added to the sense of community on the evening.
A highlight of the night was the charity raffle, made possible through the generous support of local agri-food businesses, who donated an excellent range of prizes. The raffle raised an impressive £506, with proceeds going to the Student Council’s nominated charities, Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and Rural Support.
Speaking after the event, Students’ Union President Rebekah Evans expressed her pride in the hard work that went into organising the formal: “The formal is one of the biggest highlights of the student calendar and seeing the function room full and everyone enjoying themselves made all the effort worthwhile. We are grateful to the CAFRE staff who joined us - it really shows the strong sense of community at Greenmount. Events like this bring our students together outside the classroom and help create lasting memories. The atmosphere was fantastic and we couldn’t be happier with how the evening turned out. Thank you to everyone who supported, attended and helped make the night special.”
The 2026 Student Formal once again showcased the vibrancy and unity of the Greenmount Campus community, a fitting celebration for an exceptional student body as they prepare to complete their studies.
For those considering a career in the land-based sector, further information on courses available at CAFRE can be found on the CAFRE website.
