    Date published: 4 June 2026

The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) invites you to visit Greenmount Campus, Antrim during Bank of Ireland’s Open Farm Weekend.

CAFRE staff, Lori Hartman and James Crawford, welcome visitors to Greenmount Campus, Antrim, for Open Farm Weekend (13–14 June, 11am–4pm). Enjoy exploring the campus and browse a wide selection of plants available to purchase throughout the event.

On Saturday 13 June and Sunday 14 June 2026 (11:00 am – 4:00 pm), the campus will open its gates for a busy and enjoyable day of free activities, demonstrations, and displays, offering visitors a closer look at life at CAFRE.

Visitors can watch live sheep shearing demonstrations, test their skills on tractor simulators, and milk ‘Clover’ the cow. Visitors can also learn about the food farm-to-fork journey and sample ice cream made at Loughry Campus A wide range of agriculture and horticulture exhibits will be on display, alongside floristry demonstrations and family-friendly activities in the beautiful Walled Garden.

Plants will be available to purchase and conservation organisations including the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) and the Ulster Beekeepers Association will be in attendance.

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic; however, refreshments will also be available to purchase. Please note that only assistance dogs on a lead are permitted.

Open Farm Weekend also provides an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their families to explore what CAFRE has to offer. Whether completing GCSEs or A-Levels, visitors can meet staff, tour facilities and learn more about the range of courses available and the careers they can lead to across the agri-food, horticulture, equine, and land-based sectors.
