Groundwater Body Classification - 2009

The EC Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) (WFD) requires the status of groundwater management units (groundwater bodies) within each river basin to be determined as ‘good’ or ‘poor’ (with respect to the target date of 2015). This document summarises the approach taken to determining status for groundwater bodies in Northern Ireland, the results of which are reported in the river basin management plans.
