Strategic Policy and Legislation Branch can provide support to Public Authorities in relation to their duties under the Rural Needs Act (NI) 2016 including advice and information in relation to Rural Needs Impact Assessments, RNIA Templates, Rural Needs Monitoring Returns and the Rural Needs Annual Monitoring Report.

DAERA Rural Statistician

DAERA’s Rural Statistician can provide information to Public Authorities on rural statistics.

Rural Community Network

The Rural Community Network (RCN) can provide support to Public Authorities in undertaking Rural Needs Impact Assessments by helping to identify the needs of people in rural areas. It can also help Public Authorities to develop solutions to address the particular needs of rural communities. The RCN can also help facilitate engagement between Public Authorities and the rural community sector on particular policy issues.

Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA)

NISRA is the principal source of official statistics and social research on Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland Official Statistics are published on the NISRA website.
