Katrina joined the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs as Permanent Secretary in April 2022 following three years as Permanent Secretary in the Department for Infrastructure. Prior to this, Katrina worked at senior levels in The Executive Office and the Department of Education.
Katrina has developed and led policy development courses in the NI Civil Service and is a Visiting Professor at Ulster University where she teaches on the Masters in Public Administration. She has also worked with, both the British Council and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), to develop the sharing of learning and best practice in an international context and as part of an OECD expert team, carrying out a review of aspects of the education system in Lithuania.
Outside of work, Katrina is married with two daughters, is a keen (but very slow) runner and a regular Parkrun volunteer. She is also a Brownie Leader in her local community.
