    • Statistics,
    • Agricultural inputs and outputs

The Egg Packers survey provides information to estimate the size and performance of the egg processing sector in Northern Ireland as well as on the structure of the egg packing sector, on the population of laying hens and on the egg production systems used.

    User statement

The information in the biannual Egg Packers statistical notice is used by a variety of users. The Northern Ireland Assembly government uses the information as evidence for assessing egg production and employment in this sector. The information is used in the Quarterly Reviews (aimed at producing short-term output forecasts) of the UK livestock sectors conducted by the DEFRA and the devolved administrations.
