    An Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP) is a statutory requirement of the Environment Act 2021. The EIP will provide the focus for protecting and enhancing our natural environment for the coming decades.

    NI Executive approval was obtained on 26 September 2024. The EIP was published on 27 September 2024. 

    Expected Timeline

    The first annual report will be due by January 2026. This will cover the 12-month reporting period which beginning from 27 September 2024.
