    Please note, live animals and Products of Animal Origin (POAO) that are subject to official controls when entering the union, as directed under Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/632, must be presented for official controls at time of entry into the Union or Northern Ireland to the Border Control Post (BCP) of first entry.     DEFRA are currently providing financial support for traders moving agrifood goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland under the Movement Assistance Scheme. The scheme has been extended to 30 June 2025 and includes the following types of goods:

    • live animals and animal products
    • plants and plant products
    • some categories of high risk food and feed not of animal origin
    • organic products
