Inland Fisheries - Community Angling Outreach Event Fund

The Community Outreach Angling Events Fund (Fund) was introduced in 2018 to encourage the development of angling as a sport in Northern Ireland.

The Fund was designed to:-

  • Assist groups and angling providers attract and introduce new participants to angling.
  • Develop angling as a healthy, affordable and accessible sport available to the widest possible range of participants and user groups.
  • Promote angling as an effective means of tackling poverty and overcoming social exclusion by attracting under-represented groups.
  • Promote the positive advantages of angling to women, young people and people with a disability.

Groups and angling providers were able to facilitate an angling event with funding up to £500.

The Events Fund approved funding period has now ended. The scheme was closed for applications as of Monday 7 November 2022.  A post project evaluation is required to be completed for the event fund before another scheme can be considered.  Any future scheme will require Ministerial approval.
