    Consultation description

The impact of invasive alien species (IAS) on our domestic and global biodiversity are severe and growing. They challenge the survival of some of our rarest species, damaging our sensitive ecosystems and have an impact on a range of industries and networks, including farming and the building industry and our waterways. DAERA is committed to taking action in dealing with the spread and impact of invasive alien species.

The purpose of this consultation is to obtain your views on the management measures being considered by DAERA. Your responses will help us develop our thinking in this area so that we can put in place processes that will allow for effective action to be taken to manage species of Union concern that are widely spread in Northern Ireland.

If you have a hearing difficulty you can contact DAERA via Text Relay.
