Consultation description
This consultation offers consultees the opportunity to provide their views on DAERA’s proposal to set Northern Ireland’s Fourth Carbon Budget covering the period 2038-2042 at an average annual reduction of 77% below the 1990 baseline, in line with the recommendation of the UK Climate Change Committee (CCC advice - Northern Ireland’s Fourth Carbon Budget).
DAERA is required to set the Fourth Carbon Budget at a level that is consistent with meeting the emissions reduction targets for 2040 and 2050.
