Consultation description

The purpose of this consultation is to seek views and comments from individuals and organisations on the proposed content of the RDP 2014 - 2020.  

Like its predecessor, this Programme will be part funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and is aimed at improving competitiveness in the agriculture and forestry sector, safeguarding and enhancing the rural environment and fostering competitive and sustainable rural businesses and thriving rural communities.

A consultation on the Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the RDP 2014 – 2020 will run in conjunction with the consultation on the Programme.

The DARD consultation on the Rural Development Programme forms part of a wider consultation exercise on three draft EU Programmes for 2014-2020 which also includes proposals for the European Social Fund (ESF) Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme, and the.European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme for Northern Ireland.
