Coolmore Internship winner for 2016 announced

Date published: 14 July 2016

CAFRE Enniskillen Campus prides itself on producing graduates who have the skills and abilities to succeed within a competitive equine industry. This is evidenced through the graduates of both the BSc (Hons) Equine Management and Foundation Degree (FdSc) Equine Management often gaining good positions within the equine industry.

Each year an internship is provided by Coolmore which offers the successful graduate the opportunity to travel to Australia to work for six months followed by six months work in Ireland. A competitive recruitment process is used in the selection of a suitable graduate with an initial application process being followed with short listing and then interviews which take place at Coolmore Ireland.

Following a competitive selection process a new intern has been appointed for 2016. This year’s successful graduate is Emma McCabe from Dundalk who recently graduated from the BSc (Hons) Equine Management programme. Emma has a strong interest in Thoroughbred management and is extremely excited to have this invaluable opportunity to develop her skills within a leading global Thoroughbred organisation.

Enniskillen Campus staff and students are grateful to Coolmore for providing such a world class opportunity allowing graduates to gain the competitive edge and to develop invaluable skills which are needed to succeed within the equine industry.

To find out more about the equine courses offered at Enniskillen Campus, come along to our open evening on Thursday 25 August at 7pm or alternatively check out our courses on the CAFRE website.
