Date published: 12 August 2016

Do you have experience of working in the agri-food or the rural business sector, but have not yet had an opportunity to gain a graduate level qualification? If so, then the QUB accredited Graduate Certificate in Business Communication for Rural Enterprise which is delivered at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Loughry Campus, near Cookstown may interest you. This course is designed to build confidence and enhance career prospects through an interactive and informal teaching approach where theory is mixed with real-life practical examples. Completion of this one-year, part-time programme, provides an industry recognised qualification and also provides a pathway onto the full-time or part-time Masters course in Business for Agri-Food and Rural Enterprise which is also taught at Loughry Campus.

In September 2015, Michaela McBride enrolled onto the QUB Graduate Certificate programme at CAFRE. Having successfully graduated in June this year with the highest marks in her class, she achieved the Haughey Recruitment award. As a result of her Graduate Certificate qualification, Michaela can now further her education achievements with a follow on Postgraduate course.

At her recent graduation, Michaela commented: “Having been in full-time employment for some years, I was initially nervous about returning to study. As the classes at Loughry Campus were delivered in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere, I soon enjoyed attending. When I finished at the end of May, I actually found myself missing my class at CAFRE!”

If you wish to find out more details related to this and any other programmes on offer at CAFRE, do come along to the open day at Loughry campus on Thursday 25 August 2016 from 3.00pm to 8.00pm.
