Final year food degree students from CAFRE’s Loughry Campus visit London’s International Food Exhibition

The main objective was to learn about developments in the agri-food industry. The exhibition is renowned for showing the latest new product developments in latest food trends and in-depth insight across the global food and drink industry. Students witnessed the huge growth in many product trends including health foods, snacks and food to go categories, as well as an increasing demand for convenient and alternative protein snacks.

Exhibiting companies from sixty countries participate in this international food event and students had the opportunity to see and taste some of the vast range of new, innovative and exotic food and drink products on display. They heard at first hand from global businesses about new and emerging food trends across the globe.

Students also took the opportunity to see developments in retail marketing at Harrods, Whole Foods Market and Hamley’s with its colourful displays and enthusiastic sales people.
