Grow your future in Horticulture and Floristry at Greenmount Campus Open Day

Whether you're leaving school, considering a career change or looking to develop your skills, the College of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is inviting prospective students to discover the exciting opportunities available in Horticulture and Floristry at their course Open Day at Greenmount Campus, Antrim.
The Horticulture and Floristry Open Day will take place on Wednesday 7 October 2026 with guided tours of campus facilities planned at 10.30am and 6pm. Visitors will see first-hand how CAFRE combines practical training with industry, exploring Greenmount's specialist facilities, including the Horticulture Centre, Floristry Studio, Sports Turf facilities and the ornamental Walled Garden.
Staff will be available throughout the day to explain course options, progression routes and the career opportunities available across the horticulture industry in areas such as plant production, landscaping, environmental management and sports turf management. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the wide range of qualifications available, from Level 2 and Level 3 full-time and apprenticeship programmes through to part-time or full-time Ulster University-validated Foundation and Honours Degree courses.
Current students will share their experiences of studying at Greenmount Campus, discuss work placement opportunities and provide a first-hand insight into student life at CAFRE.
Those interested in floristry will gain an insight into the creative, technical and practical skills developed through CAFRE's Level 2 and Level 3 Floristry programmes. Visitors will be able to view student work, meet lecturers and learn more about careers in floral design, event floristry and the wider floriculture industry.

Our Horticulture and Floristry Open Day is the ideal opportunity for anyone considering a career in the sector to explore the courses and facilities available at CAFRE. Visitors will be able to meet our dedicated staff and students, learn about the different study pathways on offer and gain valuable insight into the exciting career opportunities within these industries.
