Minister Muir welcomes launch of the Rural Data Hub
Date published:
DAERA Minister, Andrew Muir, has welcomed the launch of the Rural Data Hub, a new resource bringing together rural-specific data into a single, user-friendly dashboard.
The Hub will benefit rural communities, researchers, community and voluntary organisations, funding bodies, elected representatives and central and local government.
This new dashboard aims to provide decision-makers and stakeholders with accurate, granular data to better understand and address the needs of rural communities across Northern Ireland, supporting informed policy development and targeted interventions.
Users can access a number of key features including the creation of bespoke areas using lower-level geographies such as data zones, enabling localised analysis and comparisons between urban and rural areas, helping identify disparities. Filtering can also be enabled by datasets including Demography, Education, Economy, and Health.
Minister Muir said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of the Rural Data Hub for Northern Ireland.”
From members of the public who want to identify issues and opportunities in their local area, to the public authorities listed in the Schedule to the Rural Needs Act (NI) 2016 applying a rural lens to policy decisions – the Hub is designed to support informed, evidence-based action for all rural communities.”
Minister Muir continued: “This innovative dashboard brings together rural data in one place, making it accessible to everyone.”
To access and use the dashboard, please visit the Rural Data Hub.
