The meetings are held by the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) and the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) and enable sprayer operators to get an update on changes in legislation and learn about new technology in spray applications.

The last chance to attend one of the Roadshows will be at CAFRE, Greenmount Campus on Wednesday 25February. Places can be booked on the UFU website in the events section.

Along with the usual update on current issues and legislation changes, this year’s workshop focuses on spray droplet and nozzle technology. It is well known that good application plays an important part in how well plant protection products work and this course will help you identify ways to set up your spray application equipment to achieve optimal results.

People attending the workshop can get 10 NRoSO scheme CPD points and 8 BASIS scheme CPD points. NRoSO is one of three focus areas for the Voluntary Initiative (VI) alongside National Sprayer Testing Scheme (NSTS) and promotion of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) all aimed at inimizing any negative impacts from application of plant protection products.
