The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) is promoting equestrian safety in the month leading up to the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund National Equestrian Safety Day on 24 March 2018.
Information and guidance on how to work and interact with horses safely will be issued and a free online course on health and safety with horses will be offered from 12 March until 6 April.
The course will cover safe working practices and how to reduce risks of accidents and injury. Participants can access the course material at a time and place which suits them and upon completion of the course all participants will gain a certificate of completion from CAFRE.
Participants must enrol online by Monday 5 March 2018 through the CAFRE website, selecting ‘Industry Support’ and then ‘Equine’. When registering on the CAFRE website, please ensure to enrol on the ‘Health and Safety with Horses’ course after setting up an initial CAFRE log-in. A good internet connection will be necessary for this course.
