Racing ahead at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus

Date published: 03 April 2019

Recently instructors from RACE (Racing Academy and Centre of Education) visited CAFRE to help students improve their riding skills on racehorses.

CAFRE Enniskillen Campus students James Harrison and Sorcha Woods ready for action after their day with RACE instructors.

The students enjoyed a full day of instruction which included working on the gallops, schooling over fences, and simulator training. They were very appreciative of the guidance on skills and fitness level required to ride in a Point to Point race.

James Harrison and Sorcha Woods were two of the students taking part. They both have achieved their amateur Point to Point licence during their time at CAFRE.

At the recent Point to Point held in Portrush, James managed to secure a second place on college racehorse Patriot’s Prayer, with Sorcha having her first run on college racehorse Notnowlove. They look forward to further success in the rest of the season.

If you would like to receive further insight into life at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus, our open day is on Saturday 6 April at 12 noon.
