Whilst Scotland remains Bluetongue free there are additional Bluetongue requirements which must be met, as detailed and explained below.

    EXPORTS DESTINED FOR SCOTLAND ONLY

Whilst Scotland remains Bluetongue free additional Bluetongue requirements must be met if livestock are moving to Scotland. Please see applicable supplemental certificate for details.

The supplemental certificate, which is specific to Scotland, must be completed and travel with the animals in addition to the usual GB export certificate.

NOTE: TWO CERTIFICATES ARE REQUIRED – THE STANDARD CERTIFICATE PLUS A SUPPLEMENTAL CERTIFICATE

The supplemental certificates can be downloaded from this page. Note: The requirements change from 1st June for breeding and production, please make sure to use the appropriate certificate.

The certificates contain fillable fields. Please complete the certificate online before printing. You should enter the certificate number from the standard GB Certificate issued by DAERA systems as the certificate number for the Scotland certificate so that the two are linked.

Transport Requirements: Once the animals are loaded and the journey has commenced, animals must not be unloaded until arrival at the destination premises with the exception of scheduled stops at the following locations:

    • Motorway service stations
    • Official lay-by (on a trunk/main road)
    • Lorry Park or similar place

Animals for slaughter: the premises of destination must be an abattoir designated for the purposes of slaughtering livestock from bluetongue control zones

Please select the relevant documents below for the species to be exported.
