    This guidance supports the implementation of the Mandatory Use of Closed-Circuit Television in Slaughterhouses Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2026, which came into operation on 1 August 2026. It is intended for slaughterhouse
    operators and sets out the requirements relating to the installation and use of CCTV systems, the retention of
    recordings, and the provision of access to footage. The guidance aims to assist operators in meeting their legal
    obligations and support the effective monitoring and enforcement of animal welfare requirements in slaughterhouses.
