    Newry Mourne and Down District Council wish to deploy a modular, floating, pontoon system off Delamont Country Park in the Quoile Estuary to facilitate access on to Strangford Lough for Skiffiefest 2022 following on from the Skiffie Worlds held at the same location in July 2016, Skiffie fest in July 17, July 18 and June 19.

    Project Description: The pontoon will comprise Aquadock blocks held in place by delta anchors. The pontoon is intended to provide access for skiffies, event safety craft and other small non-motorized craft. The course for the Skiffie festival (30/07/2022 to 31/07/2022) is1km long with a start / finish line marked by buoys and a line of turning marks to allow for 2km races. This site is the only one that is identified in the Lough with suitable conditions for skiffie competitions.
