The Northern Ireland Countryside Survey (1997)

Between 1986 and 1991 Environment and Heritage Service DOE (NI) commissioned the University of Ulster to carry out a series of surveys of the ecology and landscape of the Northern Ireland countryside. These surveys, collectively referred to as the Northern Ireland Countryside Survey (NICS), originated as independent studies of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
