Rivers Digital Datasets

Rivers datasets as defined under Article 2(4) of the Water Framework Directive in GML and SHP formats.This river waterbody layer displays boundaries based on surface water flow hydrological units.  This is a 2016 2nd cycle revision of the earlier 2009 1st cycle hydrological unit split.  Future revisions are not planned.River segments are reach-to-reach sections of rivers, defined in 2010.River datasets are also available for download on the Open Data NI website in a variety of formats.WFD River Water Bodies 2nd CycleNorthern Ireland River Segments
