Summary
The Environmental Noise Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 (the ‘Regulations’) aim to avoid, prevent and reduce, on a prioritised basis, the harmful effects, including annoyance, resulting from exposure to environmental noise. The Regulations require that the Department shall prepare maps identifying quiet areas pursuant to regulation 40. The primary method for responding to this consultation is online via Citizen Space.

This consultation seeks your comments on the Department’s proposal to designate Lagan Meadows as a Quiet Area.
The selection of Lagan Meadows meets the requirements of the Departments Guidance for Quiet Areas, published on 21 September 2016, which sets out the identification, designation and management of quiet areas.
