  • 5 November Deadline - Accept Letters of Offer for the Sustainable Farming Investment Scheme

    Date published: 22 October 2026

DAERA is reminding farm businesses that 5 November 2026 is the last day for accepting Letters of Offer for the Sustainable Farming Investment Scheme (SFIS).

The first Letters of Offer under SFIS worth £15million were issued on 8 October 2026 and successful applicants were given 28 days to accept their offer(s).

Letters of Offer can only be accepted by logging into the Scheme Portal.

Separate Letters of Offer were issued for low emission slurry spreading equipment (LESSE) and for non-LESSE equipment. Farmers who are successful in applying for both will need to accept each Letter of Offer separately if they wish to proceed.

Letters of Offer not accepted by the deadline will expire.

More information on the SFIS, including How To guides and the link to the Scheme Portal.

Applicants can check the status of their round 1 application on the Scheme Portal. If an applicant has been successful in this first batch of offers, the status will be Letter of Offer Issued. If the application outcome is still to be confirmed, the status will be Application Submitted.
