  • CAFRE Calf 2020 Webinar videos

    Date published: 9 December 2020

Video recordings of three Calf 2020 Webinars organised by the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) are now available on the new CAFRE website writes Martin Mulholland, Senior Dairying Technologist at CAFRE.

The webpage containing links to the video recordings can be found within the business support, agriculture, and dairy section of the website.

The subjects of the three Calf 2020 Webinars were: calf housing; accelerated growth in dairy heifer calves; and hygiene, health and disease control in calf housing. CAFRE would like to thank Aaron Brown and Dr Gillian Scoley of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI), Dr Leonel Leal of Trouw Nutrition in the Netherlands and Dr Cahir McAuley of Firmount Veterinary Clinic for their valuable input to the series of webinars.

Feedback from the 550 plus attendees viewing the webinars highlighted the desire to see more video footage of the new CAFRE Calf House. This request has been taken on board and CAFRE will upload more video footage of the new calf rearing facilities over the next few weeks.

The CAFRE dairying technology team will be organising further webinars in 2021 starting with energy efficiency on dairy farms in January.
