  • Future learners explore opportunities at CAFRE

    Date published: 15 October 2025

Open Week at the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) was a great success, welcoming hundreds of potential applicants from across Ireland and beyond.

CAFRE Student Recruitment Team, Laura Browne, Antonia Donnelly and Caoimhe Hegarty welcomed visitors to Open Week.

Visitors had the chance to explore CAFRE’s three campuses, meet staff and students, and discover the wide range of courses and career pathways they lead to. A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us, your curiosity made the week a truly rewarding experience for all involved.

Over the course of the week, visitors had the opportunity to discover campus life through guided tours, information sessions, and hands-on experiences. From Agriculture and Food to Equine, Floristry, Horticulture, Land-based Engineering, and Veterinary Nursing, CAFRE showcased the diverse study pathways from Level 2 to Honours level and the exciting career opportunities they unlock.

Visitors also got insights into student life, including accommodation, student services, and financial support. The week was designed to be both enjoyable and useful, helping future students picture themselves at CAFRE and feel confident about their next steps.

Missed attending Open Week? CAFRE will be hosting an Open Week in the spring, from Saturday 7 to Friday 13 March 2026. It’s a great chance to explore our courses, meet staff and students, and see what life at CAFRE is all about. For information visit the events section of the CAFRE website.

We’re looking forward to welcoming future students and helping shape the next generation of agri-food and land-based professionals.
