    Date published: 17 August 2017

On Thursday 24 August, the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) will open the doors of its three campuses to offer advice and guidance for prospective students wishing to follow a career in the agri-food and land-based sectors.

CAFRE’s career advice events provide the opportunity to speak to staff and to find out more about the range of exciting courses to help you make the right decision for your chosen career in this important global industry.

With more than 90% student satisfaction across all courses, CAFRE offers a successful gateway to many exciting career opportunities. Over 98% of students secure employment or progress to continuing education within six months of completing a CAFRE course.

Speaking ahead of the events CAFRE College Director Martin McKendry said: “This is an important time for anyone selecting a course to map out their chosen career. That is why students of all ages choose CAFRE - because they are interested in getting a good job at the end of their course.

“CAFRE has excellent links with businesses and industry organisations, many of which employ our graduates and who also support our students by providing work placements, guest lectures and real-life case studies and research projects. They also donate over £56,000 in student bursaries across all disciplines to help fund the cost of their studies.

“So, whether you are interested in a Certificate, Diploma, Foundation or Honours Degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Masters course, we hope to see you at one of our careers advice events to show you the world of opportunities that CAFRE can open up.”

Careers advice events will be held on Thursday 24 August, as follows:

    • Loughry Campus, Cookstown – from 3:00pm to 8:00pm
    • Enniskillen Campus – starting at 7:00pm
