  • Numbers attending the Agricultural Business Operations Course at CAFRE are still strong

    Date published: 24 September 2025

The CAFRE Agricultural Business Operations [ABO] Level II Certificate Course is now up and running again for 2025/26.

Brenda Collins from Fintona, pictured with Course Lecturer, Mark Poots at CAFRE Greenmount Campus, where she will be completing the Level 2 Agricultural Business Operations in Sheep Production course.

Discussing the course, course manager, Kenneth Johnston said that CAFRE had received a high level of interest again for the course for 2025/26 and over 90 students have now enrolled.

Kenneth further explained that the course will be delivered one night per week over 20 weeks from the end of September 2025 to the end of February 2026 using a blended approach with a mixture of face to face and online delivery. He also said that the course is again being delivered at all CAFRE Campus locations with classes in beef and sheep production.

Brenda Collins [pictured] from Fintona, Co Tyrone has recently started the sheep course. She said: “I am really looking forward to the course especially the animal health and sheep production modules. The course is ideal for me as it is held in the evenings. I am hoping to learn plenty over the next 20 weeks, and I am also looking forward to getting to know the others on the course who come from all over Northern Ireland.”
