Between 2006 and 2012, the Department's Scientific Diving Team in partnership with the Ulster Museum undertook an extensive diving survey to both asses the condition of existing Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) as well as identifying potential additional MPAs. The diving data was combined with knowledge gained through an extensive seabed mapping program (JIBS and AFBI's NI Seabed Mapping Programme) resulted in a series of internal research/monitoring reports which can be downloaded as pdfs.
