DAERA has a role in development management and responds to development proposals where there is potential for impacts on the natural and marine environments and fisheries interests.

DAERA Planning Consultations Update

DAERA wishes to inform customers that we are currently experiencing a high volume of work, which is resulting in delays to planning consultation responses. The Department is implementing a number of actions to improve performance and address the current backlog.

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving customer service, we are publishing information on expected processing times to increase transparency and help manage customer expectations.

The Planning Response Team is the single point of contact for planning consultations and environmental queries related to planning, and provides a single, integrated response for each consultation across DAERA’s areas of responsibility.
