Carbon Reduction Commitment - Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC Scheme)

The CRC Scheme is a UK wide government scheme designed to improve energy efficiency and cut emissions in large public and private sector organisations.

Who is affected?

The CRC Scheme affects large public and private sector organisations across the UK, together responsible for around 10% of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Participants include supermarkets, water companies, banks, local authorities and all central government departments.

There are currently 51 NI registered participants in the CRC Scheme (29 in the public sector and 22 in the private sector).
