  • Take the first step towards a rewarding career in Veterinary Nursing Greenmount Campus Open Day

    Date published: 17 September 2026

If you are interested in a career in the animal care profession, the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE)’s Greenmount Campus is the place to be on Wednesday 7 October for our Veterinary Nursing Open Day.

Level 3 Veterinary Nursing students Cassidy Douglas (Antrim), Andrea McGreal (Greyabbey), Abi Barham (Larne) encourage you to attend the Open Day on Wednesday 7 October at Greenmount Campus.

Come along and learn about our Level 2 Certificate in Veterinary Care Support and Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.

Prospective students and guests will have the opportunity to hear from Senior Lecturer Claire Morris and meet members of the teaching team. Veterinary Nursing students will be on hand to guide you through a tour of the Veterinary Nursing teaching facilities to let you see where knowledge and practical skills are acquired.

During your visit you will have the opportunity to experience CAFRE’s specialist laboratories and clinical training facilities. A series of course-aligned practical demonstration stations will showcase the key skills which are taught, including animal handling, anaesthesia, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and radiography. Our practical displays will highlight the support and engagement offered by CAFRE’s Veterinary Nursing courses.

CAFRE’s Level 2 and 3 Veterinary Nursing courses provide the appropriate knowledge to complement the practical skills acquired while working in a veterinary practice. Studying at CAFRE while working in a veterinary practice enables students to start their career journey in a dynamic profession while getting essential hands-on experience.

Open Day tours will run at 12pm, 4pm and 6pm. To find out more and to book your place please visit the CAFRE website. We look forward to welcoming you to the Veterinary Nursing Open Day on Wednesday 7 October.
