National Trust will be dredging a section of the sea & riverbed that are accessed by the slipway at Cushendun Harbour. This is to enable recreational use of the slipway by members of the local community and water sports enthusiasts, by
keeping the waterway navigable.

Project Description: The sediment at Cushendun Harbour will be dredged and relocated to the nearby Cushendun beach in accordance with the following method statement.
1. During suitable low spring tidal windows, a suitably sized mechanical digger not exceeding 15T operated by an experienced and competent driver will be used to dredged approximately 1500m3 of sediment material from the harbour slipway.
2. Dredged material will be loaded onto a tractor and trailer and transported approximately 85m to Cushendun Beach.
3. The material will then be deposited along the upper beach profile over a 450m2 area to ensure the sediment remains within the same sediment cell.
