Lough Island Reavy
Lough Island Reavy is a man‑made freshwater reservoir near Kilcoo, County Down, on the edge of the Mourne Mountains. Constructed for water supply purposes, it remains a strategically important impounding reservoir supporting water treatment works in County Down and Belfast. Covering around 100 hectares, the lough also supports recreational angling and contains various species, while recent investment has focused on maintaining reservoir safety and long‑term water security.
