Managed Fisheries in County Down
DAERA manages a range of angling waters in County Down through fisheries management arrangements with local angling clubs and community organisations. These arrangements help provide public access to quality angling opportunities while supporting the sustainable management, maintenance and development of these fisheries.
Managed Angling Waters include fisheries where DAERA owns or leases the fishing rights and works in partnership with local management organisations to deliver angling opportunities for both local and visiting anglers. Through these arrangements, clubs and organisations play an important role in the day-to-day management of fisheries, helping to maintain facilities, promote responsible angling and enhance the angling experience.
